Hardware Installation & SETUP Instructions SmartFone Makes it Easy In order to transport phone calls over the internet your voice needs to be converted into the industry standard IP (Internet Protocol) format called VoIP (Voice over IP). Along with your voice there's a number of hidden digital control signals that provide additional control and functionality (make your life easier). No Hardware Setup is Required by You At SmartFone we take the hassle away from you so all you have to do is enjoy the savings and increased functions that 1CC offers. We either configure your phone or adapter to your settings BEFORE you get it or, let your device update itself using auto-provisioning. What's Auto-Provisioning? When you plug your new hardware device in, the internal computer asks for the required information and contacts our network (via a dedicated connection). If the information is new or updated, it loads YOUR correct device information from our database. No private information is transferred. Just information that gets your device or equipment talking to the Net2MAX platform so that you can make calls. All You Need to Do is Plug in the Cables and Power There should be no complicated setup procedure. If you have ordered the installation service your hardware will most likely just work right out of the box. The most that should be required is to add your ISP login settings and it should all just burst into life! When you get your adapter or SIP Phone in the mail, all you need to do is plug it in and power it up. All devices come with a simple diagram on how to connect them to a normal home or soho network. More complicated or non-standard setups may require some additional technical help, but not often. Typical Home Network Setup Your setup will look similar to the diagram below. Variations usually depend upon the choice of router or modem and where your telephone filters are located. More detail is included in your device's installation instructions.
